Research proposal

I chose my Research Proposal, as an artifact, as it showcases my ability to identify and develop a complete and relevant research proposal, including conducting a thorough and complete literature review, identifying the relevant data from each study, ultimately identifying a paucity of understanding in the field. The program at University at Western States supported me in developing a skillset to effectively develop research proposals that are relevant and desired in the field to provide greater understanding and information to benefit the field of sport and performance psychology. This research proposal and the course Research Methods and Program Evaluations provided me with a skillset to be selected by one of my esteemed professors to join his research team.

Mental Skills Training Curriculum: Part VIII Performance States

I chose Part VIII of my MST Curriculum: Performance States, as one of my artifacts because it showcases a glimpse of my ability to write a full evidence-based curriculum on the various mechanisms and methodologies for achieving performance excellence. This artifact illustrates my comprehensive understanding of the integral role performance states play in the achievement of performance excellence. My full comprehensive evidence-based curriculum provides the understanding of the integral role and mechanisms for effective application of the following mental skills training facets, including routines, self-talk, goal setting, mental resilience, focus, concentration, and managing distractions, imagery and visualization, handling performance errors and setbacks, and assessments, and technology. My curriculum also, provides worksheets for each mental skills training component, providing reflective practice to support deeper learning and greater comprehension of the concepts to support the optimal application for all individuals, teams, and groups.

Case Study: Confidence

I chose my sample case study on confidence as one of my artifacts because it gives a brief overview of my process for developing an effective sport and performance psychology intervention plan for an individual who is facing challenges with their self-talk ultimately inhibiting their ability to experience confidence to support optimal performance. This artifact showcases my ability to effectively navigate a client’s background and presenting challenges, to efficaciously develop an appropriate intervention plan that would support their achievement of performance excellence. This artifact illustrates the skillset that I have developed through the program at University of Western States, which includes analyzing a client’s presenting challenges with a theoretical orientation and professional philosophy in mind, as I reference relevant research and evidence in the field, as well as other interdisciplinary knowledge, providing me with the means to clearly define evidence-based techniques to effectively address their challenges to support the achievement of performance excellence.

Case Study: Relaxing & Energizing

I chose my sample case study on relaxing and energizing as one of my artifacts because it gives a brief overview of my process for developing an effective sport and performance psychology intervention plan for an individual who is facing challenges with managing their energy levels, ultimately inhibiting their ability to experience optimal physical activation to support optimal performance. This artifact showcases my ability to effectively navigate a client’s background and presenting challenges, to efficaciously develop an appropriate intervention plan that would support their achievement of performance excellence. This artifact further illustrates the skillset that I have developed through the program at University of Western States, which includes analyzing a client’s presenting challenges with a theoretical orientation and professional philosophy in mind, as I reference relevant research and evidence in the field, as well as other interdisciplinary knowledge, providing me with the means to clearly define evidence-based techniques to effectively address their challenges to support the achievement of performance excellence.

Applied sport Psychology Final Examination

I chose my applied sport psychology final examination, as one of my artifacts because it gives a brief overview of my thorough and diligent process for approaching individuals in the field of sport and performance psychology. This final exam showcased my ability to effectively navigate various, diverse client backgrounds and presenting challenges, to efficaciously develop appropriate intervention plans that would support their achievement of performance excellence, as well as illustrates my comprehensive understanding of the integral concepts of sport and performance psychology developed through this program. I received a 100% score for my thorough application and clear understanding of these integral concepts in sport and performance psychology provided in this course.
