In Core-Alignment Coaching there are five different, interconnected concepts that are referred to as the Five Principles of Success. These Five Principles of Success are defined and incorporated throughout the coaching process to assist individuals and professionals in their own respective fields in order to support them in whatever positive direction they want to take their lives. These Five Principles are: 1) Know What You Want, 2) Ask for It, 3) Show Up 4) Keep Your Word 5) Have a Natural Attitude of Gratitude. We are going to explore them briefly throughout this post.
The first principle, of the Five Principles of Success, is Know What You Want. The principle Know What you Want, is referring to the idea that we have to know what we want first in order to take our life in the desired direction we want to go. Through the coaching process we uncover the core of what we want. The coaching process brings about an awareness and clarity for individuals and professionals that allows them to really look at what they want. Further, as a result, they are in a position to discover the steps they need to take in order to get what they want. This leads to the second principle, of the Five Principles of Success, Ask for it.
The second principle, Ask for it, is referring to the idea that once we know what we want, we have to start asking for it in order to continue to take our lives in the direction we would like to go to get what we want. To ask for it, has a few different meanings we can explore. Two examples are, for one, that we can verbally ask for something. On the other hand, we can ask for something by putting ourselves in a position to access the different resources to get us closer to what we want. Through the coaching process we can discover the different ways we can ask for what we want. As a result, we can see how this makes a difference in our lives in supporting us in the direction we each want to go. This leads to the third principle.
The third principle, of the Five Principles of Success, is Show Up. The principle Show Up, is referring to several ideas, for one, that we have to start showing up as we are, once we know what we want and start asking for what we want. In other words, we have to stay committed to ourselves and how we wish to show up in the world to get what we truly want. Showing up also means, that we show up fully in the present moment. In other words, we are not stuck in the past or anxious about the future.
To reiterate, when we show up fully as ourselves, we are present and aware of ourselves and what we want. We are in a position to say yes, when we are in a position to say yes, and we can say, no, when we need to say no. We are able to advocate for ourselves in respect to where we are at any given time. Showing up as we are throughout the coaching process brings us closer to where we want to go. This leads to the fourth principle of success, Keeping your word.
The fourth principle, Keeping your word is when we have reached conscious competence, in reference to the four levels of learning. In other words, we are in the position where we need to stay committed to the process in order to get what we want. This principle also reminds us of who we are, what our words mean and how we can constructively incorporate them into our lives to keep us on track to get what we want in our lives. The final and fifth principle, of the Five Principles of Success, is Natural Attitude of Gratitude. Natural attitude of gratitude is referring to the idea that gratitude is experienced naturally, throughout the process of core-alignment coaching. Further, this natural attitude of gratitude is experienced more fully when we have moved through the five principles of success and have become more aware of who we are, know what we want and as we move closer to what we want. We start to recognize all the value we are receiving from being true to who we are...It can be recognized by a sense of gratitude felt instantaneously throughout our experiences.
In closing, through briefly exploring the Five Principles of Success, how they are defined as well as their purpose to support us as we move through the core-alignment coaching process, we can see a glimpse of what is possible for us as individuals and professionals.
